Camping cupcakes

We had a church activity last night to learn about basic survival. We learned about tying knots and how to build a fire. After that we had a fire building contest. So I thought it would be super cute to make some cupcakes to go with the theme. This is what me and my creative consultant came up with.

This is the whole campsite.

Here are some of the campers.

The tents

and campfire.

We had a lot of fun figuring out how to make everything edible. Next time it will be a lot faster.
This is a great idea for kids camping parties or sleepovers.
Also for scout meetings or court of honors.

Sunflowers for Ashley

This week while visiting in Tyler I was also able to squeeze in some cupcakes for my beautiful niece Ashley who just turned 14.

I was very satisfied with the results and found it much easier than expected and not as time consuming.

My husband had some fun of his own with the ones I didn't use.

Batman and Joker

My five year old loves Batman, so what else would I do but make Batman and Joker cupcakes for his birthday. I had to get lots of advice from my husband on how to get their faces just right. I think we make a great team. These cupcakes are completely edible.

Hello Baby Cakes

For all those who love to see what project I am working on, I have created this blog strictly to post pictures of my cakes cookies and cupcakes.
My name is Sara Lee and I have just ventured into the cake decorating world.
I am hoping to get into business with this, but for right now I am just doing them for fun. I do need the practice so if any of my friends who live here in Temple would like to give me some events to practice for, I would be delighted.

This is my first wedding cake.

It took much longer than I had expected and didn't quite turn out as I had envisioned, but it did turn out better than I expected. It was chocolate on the bottom and yellow on the top two tiers. It was covered in chocolate icing and then chocolate marshmallow fondant.

The fondant was extremely finicky and very tough to work with, but now that I got the hang of it I think it will be easier next time.
